With over 140 years’ experience, SSY is widely regarded as one of the world's most trusted and experienced names in broking. As a firm, we have helped shape the global broking industry that we know today.

Fundamentally, we believe that experience matters and, just as importantly, we believe it’s our duty to share that experience with the next generation of brokers through our London-based Trainee Scheme, where successful applicants get the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced names in shipping over a 12-month period. As well as expert “on the desk” training and mentorship, our trainees are educated in the principals of shipping, as well as taking part in a series of port visits, vessel trips and industry networking events.

Applications for the September ’25 enrolment will open on the 1st February 2025 and will close on the 28th February 2025. The training will initially take place in London and the successful candidates will require the necessary right to work permits.
