Expert Training
SSY Trainee Scheme
With over 140 years’ experience, SSY is widely regarded as one of the world's most trusted names in broking, offering a comprehensive and integrated suite of broking services via its 25 local offices.
Through our London Trainee Scheme, successful applicants get the opportunity to learn from some of the most experienced names in shipping over a 12-month period. In addition to expert divisional training, we will also ensure the trainees are educated in the principals of shipping, as well as take part in networking opportunities and a series of port visits and vessel trips.

Job Description
We are looking for an LNG Shipping Analyst to join our LNG team, as part of a team of analysts sitting alongside the LNG brokers. The research team works collaboratively with the brokers to provide comprehensive services and insights to a wide range of clients, including Shipowners, LNG producers, national and major energy companies, traders and financial institutions.
The job involves statistical and written analysis of the LNG shipping market, focusing on the drivers of the underlying commodity trades as well as monitoring the development of the global fleet. This is a very exciting time to join our LNG desk, which is expanding rapidly in the face of a growing sector.
Responsibilities
• Updating, monitoring, and developing statistical databases that are used for research publications, client services and consultancy reports
• Writing for weekly and monthly reports
• Leverage LNG and shipping market understanding to develop research materials and insights
• Preparing slide decks for client presentations
• Working on ad-hoc internal and external requests
• Collating market data and processing/interpreting datasets into reports/presentations
• Working closely with the broking teams and other analysts to support specific needs
Skills
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills and ability to manage and analyse large data sets
• An inquisitive mindset with a proactive, problem-solving ethos to challenges

Location
